Acute and Sub-acute toxicity studies were carried out as per OECD guidelines 423 and 407. Haematological, biochemical parameters, histo pathological study were performed for all animals. The study concludes that on oral administration of 200 and 400 mg/kg body weight of UC to swiss albino rats, no change in behavioural and characteristic clinical sign of toxicity was observed. The UC was found to be safe in animals.
