The adverse drug reaction may be long term or short time effect. Sometimes when a drug after proper approval and by clinical trials might produce perilous effect if administered to large population group. To counter these adverse effect wide range of testing are done. Pharmacovigilance is a pharmacological science which deals with the detection, assessment, understanding and prevention of adverse drug reaction. If adverse reaction outweighs the therapeutic effect then the drug should be banned from use. But there are some drug which banned in abroad still available easily in India. The prime reason behind it was the lack enforcement power of the regulatory body.
