Abstract

COMPARATIVE STUDY OF N-LYSINE AND SYNTHETIC LYSINE ON FADING TO POULTRY BROILER BIRDS

Arvind Sharma* and Shashi Ranjan

ABSTRACT

A study was conducted to observe the comparative effect of herbal product N-Lysine and synthetic lysine amino acids on growth performance and biochemical parameters in broiler chickens. Commercial broiler chicks were randomly divided into three experimental groups, each of which comprised three replicates. Each replicate consisted of 50 birds. Groups were control (C) - Basal diet without lysine supplementation, treatment 1 (T1) - Diet with synthetic lysine at 1.2 kg ton-1 of feed and treatment 2 (T2) - Diet with herballysine as N-Lysine at 1.0 kg ton-1 of feed. Maximum weight gain was observed in T2 (873.13gm) after 03 weeks of fed with N-Lysine. Other growth parameters feed intake, FCR and livability were found best in T2. Feed intake (1326.9 gm) was observed maximum whereas mortality and FCR were found minimum (1.17) and (1.52) in T2. Results of growth parameters were also noted in same trend after 06 weeks. Least FCR (1.52) and mortality (1.22) was found in group T2. In regards of biochemical parameters, they were also observed maximum 4.16 gdL1 and 1.41 gdL1 for total protein and albumin protein respectively in T2. Similar trend was also observed after 06 weeks but results for albumin in serum were not significantly different among the treatments. It can be concluded that the herbal product N-Lysine can successfully replace synthetic lysine amino acids in broiler feed as hepatoprotective and performance enhancer.

Keywords: Amino acids, Broilers, herbal, N- Lysine, FCR, fatty liver.
