SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND ANTIMICROBIAL STUDIES OF CIPROFLOXACIN COMPLEXES WITH COBALT, COPPER AND IRON (II) IONS

Abstract Ciprofloxacin complexes of cobalt, copper, iron and zinc (II) ions were synthesized and its physicochemical, spectroscopic and antibacterial properties were evaluated. The physicochemical and spectroscopic results indicate evidence of complexes formation between the metals and ligands. Antibacterial studies showed that the complexes of ciprofloxacin complexes shows improve inhibitory effects on staphylococcus aureus than its parent form.
