. Abstract Background: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has the 11th highest adult obesity rate out of 188 countries, and 30% of Saudi men and 44% of Saudi women are obese. Primary health care physicians can play a significant role in prevention as well as in the management of obesity. Objectives: To explore knowledge and practice of primary health care physicians toward bariatric surgery in Jazan Region, Saudi Arabia. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study design; a self-administered questionnaire contains 38 questions was used. 308 physicians participated in the present study from primary care center in Jazan Region for at least one the year 2018. SPSS (version 23) was used for data entry and statistical analysis. Chi-square test was applied for the differences between categorical variables, while t-test and analysis of variance were applied to evaluate the differences between quantitative variables.
