THALAPOTHICHIL - A CONCEPTUAL STUDY

. Abstract Thalapothichil is a unique Panchakarma procedure used for the treatment of several neurological disorders. The term consists of two words ie Thala and Pothichil; Thala means ‘Shiras’ and Pothichil means ‘covering’. In general, application of medicated paste over head is referred as Shirolepa and Thalapothichil is a modified form of Shirolepa, in this medicinal paste on the head is covered by using plantain leaf or Lotus leaf.
