AYURVEDIC PERSPECTIVE ON CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE W.S.R TO MUTRAGHATA
Dr. Nisha C.*, Dr. Madhukeshwar Hegde
Abstract Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a significant global health concern, with rising prevalence and mortality rates.[1] Studies indicate a rising trend of CKD prevalence in India, with some research showing an increase from 11.12% (2011-2017) to 16.38% (2018-2023) . CKD is defined by kidney damage or a sustained reduction in estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) below 60 mL/min/1.73 m² for at least three months.[2] It is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease and can progress to end-stage renal disease (ESRD) requiring costly dialysis or transplantation, often unaffordable for many in India. Early CKD detection is often incidental, highlighting the need for better screening, especially in regions with lower socioeconomic indices.[3] Keywords: , [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
