FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF POLYHERBAL HAIR OIL FOR HAIR GROWTH
Patidar Pradeep*, Jaiswal Manoj and Jaiswal Navdeep
Abstract The present study focuses on the formulation and evaluation of a polyherbal hair oil for promoting hair growth and improving scalp health. Various medicinal plants such as amla, hibiscus, neem, Tulsi, fenugreek, and curry leaves were incorporated using coconut and almond oil as base oils. The formulation was prepared by a heat infusion method to extract the active constituents of the herbs effectively. The prepared oil was evaluated for physicochemical parameters including pH, viscosity, specific gravity, acid value, saponification value, and organoleptic properties. The results showed that the formulation possessed acceptable characteristics, with pH suitable for scalp application, moderate viscosity, and good stability. No skin irritation was observed, confirming its safety. The herbal ingredients provide essential nutrients, antimicrobial activity, and promote blood circulation, which helps in reducing dandruff and hair fall. Thus, the developed polyherbal hair oil can be considered a safe, effective, and economical alternative to synthetic hair care products.
