PHARMACEUTICO–ANALYTICAL AND IN VITRO ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY OF HANSPADYADI TAILA AGAINST STAPHYLOCOCCUS AUREUS

Abstract

Hanspadyadi Taila is a classical Ayurvedic formulation used in Nadivrana and infected wounds. This study prepared Hanspadyadi Taila using Murchhita and Amurchhita Tila Taila and evaluated their pharmaceutical, physicochemical, microbiological, and in vitro antibacterial properties. Both formulations showed acceptable quality and no detectable bacterial contamination. Against Staphylococcus aureus, Murchhita and Amurchhita Hanspadyadi Taila produced inhibition zones of 19 mm and 15 mm, respectively, compared with 26 mm for streptomycin. The findings demonstrate the antibacterial potential of Hanspadyadi Taila, with comparatively greater activity in the Murchhita formulation.
