TRANSGENERATIONAL EFFECTS OF CITRUS LIMETTA OIL VOLATILES ON POSTEMBRYONIC DEVELOPMENT AND REPRODUCTIVE POTENTIAL OF RICE MOTH CORCYRA CEPHALONICA (STAINTON) (LEPIDOPTERA: PYRALIDAE)
Kumari Kiran and P. H. Pathak*
Abstract Citrus limetta (Family: Rutaceae) oil volatiles was screened against different life stages like larva (postembryonic development) and adult (reproductive potential) of the rice-moth, Corcyra cephalonica (Stainton) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) an important pest of stored commodities during F1, F2 and F3 generation. When larvae of this pest were exposed to volatiles action of 160 μl volume of Citrus oil with eight different experimental regimens, during successive generation a drastic decline (P Keywords: Corcyra cephalonica, postembryonic development, reproductive potential, vapour action of Citrus limetta oil volatiles, transgenerational effects.
