A SHORT REVIEW ON CALLUS STUDIES OF BIOPHYTUM SENSITIVUM LINN.

Abstract Medicinal plants have been used as traditional treatments for numeroushuman diseases for thousands of years and in many parts of the world.The natural products derived from medicinal plants have proven to bean abundant source of biologically active compounds many of whichhave been the basis for the development of new lead chemicals forpharmaceuticals. Phytochemical constituents are the basic source forthe establishment of several pharmaceutical industries. Theconstituents present in a drug or plant play a significant role in theidentification of crude drug. The present study review on callusextracts of Biophytum sensitivum has showed very potentcomparatively with wild plants Hence, these is need to be isolated,characterized and carry out further pharmacological evaluation. Phytopharmacological screening of medicinal plants and their extracts willreveal their presence of valuable compounds and provide insight into new ways of treatmentwith new drugs.
