Priyam Singh* and Rajni Shrivastava
Abstract Study of awareness facts for production and usage of vermicompost and vermiwash among farmers and local community in Pachore tehsil and Chumli village of Rajgarh region of Madhya Pradesh showed that farmers are producing organic manures but not successfully making vermicompost due to lack of technical aspects. A survey was carried in the local and farmer community of Pachore region and farmer community of Chumli village was surveyed for data collection. It was concluded that conventional organic manure production takes minimum one year or more time length for production but vermicompost was successfully produced in minimum four months and the entire garden and kitchen organic waste was converted into nutritious compost and plant disease curing minerals enriched vermiwash. So we should initiate the program through technical session to let the farmers contribute in organic farming and the local community should made aware for the usage and production of vermicompost at their own so that they may contribute in waste management and organic farming. This would be a one step towards application of clean and green technology for organic waste management and organic farming through vermicomposting. Keywords: Vermicompost, vermiwash, Red wrigglers.
