THE ROLE OF COSMETIC DENTISTRY IN RESTORING A YOUTHFUL APPEARANCE IN SAUDI POPULATION: AN OVERVIEW

Abstract

Mouth is a vital organ to express aesthetics in very diverse and distinctive ways. Size and form of the lips, mouth corners, and smile all play significant roles in aesthetics. A smile is a delighted, generous, or charmed facial appearance, characteristically with the corners of the mouth turned up and the front teeth exposed. This paper is a literature review of the research on the role of cosmetic dentistry in restoring youthful appearance among young Saudi adults. By using the PubMed database, a free search engine primarily accessing the MEDLINE database of references and abstracts on the life sciences and biomedical topics. Nevertheless cosmetic dentistry is not a standard field inside the dental career, it takes years of wide-ranging education and teaching to be able to execute the many cosmetic dental processes now accessible to the uppermost principles. The number of females who undergo cosmetic dental surgery in Saudi Arabia has increased dramatically over the last few years. However, increasing awareness of cosmetic dentistry is wreaking havoc on men and women in ways that far exceed the bounds of monthly income, educational status or age. In conclusion, the studies reported in the literature showed that Cosmetic Dentistry has great prospective to alter population’s insight, receipt, approval and use of dental facilities to improve beauty.
