EFFICACY OF SWEET ALMOND OIL IN CORTICOSTEROID MODIFIED TINEA (TINEA INCOGNITO)

Abstract

As we do integrated medical practice, except use of plain allopathic medicine, it is beneficial to use allopathy with ayurvedic medicine and it‟s our duty to introduce to newer concept for better practice. Now a day due to combinations with antifungal agents and steroid preparations dermatophytes is more powerful and normal tinea infection is turn into tinea incognito, due to repeated steroid application skin becomes thin, inflamed and may also immunosuppressant was there. Side effect of antifungal agents like Eberconazole may have skin thinning and allergic reactions. In Tinea incognito already skin is thin and delicate; application of only Eberconazole may lead to irritation. Almond oil prevents dryness and also helps to shorten the duration of treatment due to its antifungal and antioxidant properties.
