COMPARATIVE AND CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF PITTA DOSHA IN AYURVEDA AND SIDHA SYSTEM OF MEDICINES

Abstract The living body can function normally, only when its Dosas, Dhatus and Malas are in a state of equilibrium. These Dosa, Dhatu and Mala constitute the basis of the physiological and pathological doctrines of Ayurveda. Out of these three doshas, till vata dosha is not getting vitiated, other doshas are unable to make major pathogenesis by independent vitiation. All the doshas depends on Vata dosha. Generally the basic concepts of the Siddha medicine are similar to Ayurveda. Like in Ayurveda, in Siddha medicine also, the physiological components of the human beings are classified as Vaadham (air), Pitham (fire) and Kabam(earth and water). In this Article an attempt is made to understand the similarities and dissimilarities of the concept of pitta dosha between Ayurveda and Siddha systems of medicine. Keywords: .
