FORMULATION DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF NIOSOMAL GEL LOADED WITH TINIDAZOLE NIOSOMES
Satish Rane*, Bhushan Rane and Ashish Jain
Abstract Niosomes are vesicular carriers in drug delivery system that are reported in seventies. They are formed by self-assembly of non-ionic surfactant and cholesterol upon hydration with aqueous media resulting in lamellar structures that encapsulates both polar and non-polar drugs. In the present research work Tinidazole niosomes were prepared by using non-ionic surfactant span 60 and cholesterol in 1:1 concentration by thin film hydration method. The prepared Tinidazole niosomes were incorporated into the gel prepared by varying concentration of carbopol 934. Niosomal gels were evaluated for homogeneity, grittiness, pH, viscosity, spreadability, extrudability, drug content uniformity, skin irritation, in-vitro diffusion and stability study. Keywords: Niosomes, Niosomal Gel, Tinidazole, Non-Ionic Surfactant Vesicles, Vesicular Drug Delivery System. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
