PARTICULATE MATTER IN PARENTERALS: A REVIEW

Abstract The presence of foreign visible and sub visible particulate matter in parenteral formulation affects its biological safety. Hence there is need to proper check on the sources of the particulate matters into the formulation. Various regulatory bodies established procedures and standards to ensure the quality of the parenterals. So manufacturers should be to continue to minimize the risk of the particulate and product should meet the specifications. The sources, effects of particulate matters on product quality and safety of the patient and various evaluations parameters are given by USP for particulate matters are discussed. Keywords: .
