Abstract
Medicinal plants have a great importance in biological field. Menthalongifolia, Angilica glauca, Artemisia meritima,Cerdus deodara,Thymus serypelleum and Sassura lappa are selected medicinal plantsused in this study for the sake of extraction of essential oils. Theessential oils were extracted by hydro distillation method. Essentialoils from these medicinal plants have great impact for antimicrobial(antibacterial and antifungal) activities against different strain ofbacteria by using microbiological assay (disc diffusion method) andminimum inhibitory concentration (MIC). The results revealed thatessential oils have moderate antibacterial effect.
Keywords: medicinal plants, essential oils, antimicrobial assays.
