KAMALA- AN AYURVEDIC PERSPECTIVE

Abstract Ayurveda is traditionally skillful, treating liver diseases since centuries and drug toxicity appears to be less as compared to conventional medicine. Acharyas like Charaka, Susruta and Vagbhata have vividly described Kamala Roga. The management of Kamala and its complication with drugs, diet and life style have been mentioned in Ayurvedic classics. Charaka has considered it as an advance stage of Pandu Roga and described Kamala in the16th chapter of Chikitsa Sthana, along with Pandu Roga.
