REVIEW ON SHARKARA KALPANA

Abstract Bhaishjya kalpana is the science which deals with preparation of different medicines. This science explains various techniques of processing a drug to make it more palatable, increased potency, and long lasting shelf life. Ayurvedic formulations can be classified in different dosage forms like solid, semisolid, liquid. Liquid dosage forms have some advantages like more palatable and easy to consume at any age especially in old age and children. Liquids are quickly effective than solids because they are already in a solution form and absorption is quickly. In Sarkara Kalpana, liquid preparations like Hima, Phanta, Kwatha and Arka etc. by double the quantity of sugar is added and boiled over very mild fire until the liquid attains syrup consistency.
