STUDY THE CONCEPT OF GARBHINI PANDU W.S.R. TO ANEMIA IN PREGNANCY

Abstract

Anemia is one of the most common disorder during pregnancy. According to WHO Hb% less than 11gm% was consider as anemia. About 50% of pregnant women worldwide suffer from anemia. Anemia is commonly due to dietary deficiencies or infections. About 20% of maternal deaths in developing countries due to anemia. Poor nutrition, lack of education, poverty etc are responsible factors. So anemia becomes very serious health problem in India. Pandu Roga is generally considered as anemia as per Ayurveda. According to harita samhita, there are 8 garbhopadrava. Vivarnata can be correlated with garbhini pandu.
