Abstract

EFFICACY OF VIDDHAKARMA IN THE MANAGEMENT OF LUMBAR SPONDYLOSIS â€“ A CASE STUDY

Abstract

Lumbar spondylosis suggest inflammation of intervertebral joint or degenerative condition of vertebra affecting disc vertebral bodies and the disease is progressive & irreversible. Lumbar region is most affected because exposure to mechanical stress. Viddhakarma is a classical treatment for pain management described in sushrut samhita and this is one of the most popular day by day therapy for pain management. Viddhakarma is procedure in which the maximum points of tenderness are marked & needles(no 26) are inserted on that particular area and kept for sometime. This process is done under aseptic precautions.
