Abstract

The Areca catechu L, which can be found throughout India. It is mentioned in Ayurvedic treatise for its medicinal properties like Hemostatic, anthelmintic and wound healing especially external one. Due to such properties, this has been used in therapeutics, such as in the prevention of bleeding. However, the various present studies show its efficacy in the management of skin ulcers and its oil is useful in treating burns.
