DIFFERENT TREATMENT APPROACHES FOR COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Abstract

The global pandemic of novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARSCoV- 2) began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019, and has since spread worldwide. This new virus is different than the ones that cause SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) or MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome). The number of cases has been increasing quickly and is considered a pandemic by World Health Organization (WHO). The number of death tolls continues to rise and a large number of countries have been forced to do social distancing and lockdown. Lack of targeted therapy continues to be a problem. Here we reviewed the current knowledge about this disease and different treatment approaches for covid-19 like Antiviral drugs, Hydroxychloroquine and other Anti-HIV drugs. Therefore, the present report has been able to provide the comprehensive view of combining the knowledge of these drugs altogether in the context of current health emergency around the world.
