Abstract

CONCEPTUAL STUDY OF DUSHI VISHA IN PRESENT ERA W.S.R TO AGRICULTURAL HAZARDS

Abstract

Dushi Visha is one of the unique concept explained in ayurveda. It is type of toxin which remains inside the body for long and then produces various effects ill effects on the body. Ayurveda gives more importance to prevention of disease and maintaince of health. Thousand of toxins present in atmosphere that are ingested by the human being on daily basis. As described in our samhitas, dushivisha is an intake of toxic drugs which is less potent and remains in dormant state within the body for year together without causing any major harm to the body. In agriculture the cronic exposure to OPP, OCP, weed killers like paraquet chlorphenoxyacetates chorate used to prevent infection in plant, being sprayed by formers on daily basis, leads to symptomps like dysphagia, oropharyngeal ulcers, coughing pain in abdomen etc. this symptoms resemble to dushivisha like symptoms. The concept of Dushi Visha seems to more relevant in this context. From this article, we may correlate the symptoms of dushivisha with the chronic agriculture field exposures which may helpful to understand concept of dushivisha.
