TONSILLITIS AND ITS EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT IN AYURVEDA - A CASE STUDY

Abstract Introduction Tonsillitis is most common with highest incidence of 1.4 % of all otolaryngeal problems in pardiatric population. Tonsillitis is the inflammation of tonsils. Chronic tonsillitis is one of common chronic infections, characterized by recurrent acute attacks. This disease occurs mostly in the age group 5-15 years. Chronic recurrent tonsillitis is diagnosed when an individual has 7 episodes of acute tonsillitis in a year. This was a case study of 15 year old male having symptoms of chronic recurrent tonsillitis which was treated with darvyadi kwath kawal. Keywords: Tonsillitis, Gilayu, kwath, ayurvedic methods, kawal.
