ROLE OF ACUPUNCTURE AND AYURVEDA IN THE MANAGEMENT OF SHUKRA DUSHTI - A CASE STUDY

Abstract Ayurveda, the ancient science of Indian medicine and Acupuncture, the ancient science of Eastern medicine are the two oldest yet living traditional medicine in the Globe. The demand for traditional medicines for healing of body and mind is increasing day by day globally. The accepted diagnosis of infertility is an inability to deliver a child after one year of regular unprotected intercourse provided the woman has regular menstrual cycles and the couple has no additional health problems. Infertility has become a major health issue in the current scenario. Both female and male factors contributes to the causes of infertility. According to Ayurveda, the ancient science of life Shukra dhatu ie; semen is being explained as the male factor contributing for the formation of Garbha where as Shonita as the female factor. Any abnormality in Shukra ie; Shukra dushti can be considered as the male factors responsible for Infertility.
