MEDICAL PRODUCT ASPECTS OF ANTENATAL WELLBEING BELT – THE CONSOLIDATED ANALYSIS ON PRODUCT DESIGN AND SPECIFICATION
*Gokul M., Durgadevi N., Sukita B. and Sharmili S.
Abstract The proposal of this paper begins with understanding the demands of continuous and effective antenatal care which has been the major conflict when distance is being a hurdle. The routine checkup requires visits to a hospital that might not happen successfully for a patient in remote places. A delivery before expected due date or abnormal contraction pattern may happen due to the changes that occur any time specifically during the end trimester. This necessitates the development of a product with high sensitivity to fetal parameters that can be portable and patient friendly and also allows technician free operational adaptability. The prognostic advantages of clinical invasive laboratory tests have been achieved by the correlation of some parameters viz Fetal ECG, Maternal ECG and Fetal PCG through electrode patches, uterine activity through pressure sensing modules, Fundal height & Amniotic fluid assessment through ultrasonic sensors and abdominal circumference through an electrode strip. The systematic assembling can be made in such a comfortable way as a wearable belt to provide a better reliable alternative for Feto-Maternal care during antepartum until intra-partum period. Keywords: Amniotic fluid assessment, FECG, FPCG, MECG, Uterine contraction and Wearable belt. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
