A PHARMACOLOGICAL REVIEW OF KARCHOOR (CURCUMA ZEDOARIA): A POTENT HERB MENTIONED IN AYURVED

Abstract Karchoor is an important plant in ayurvedic system. it has been used since ages in Ayurveda for its medicinal uses. it is abundantly found across the India. it has been used to perfume gudakhu. it is said to be deepan, paachan, sugandhi, ushna and cleansing agent for mouth.it is also used to treat kushtha, arsha, vrana, kasa, shvasha, gulma, vaat, kapha and krimiroga. charaka has mentioned it in hikkanigrahan and shavashar dashemani. sushruta mentioned this plant for the treatment of jwara, gulma and shavsa-kaas.
