T-SCAN TECHNOLOGY – A BOON FOR TRAUMATIC OCCLUSION

Abstract

Balance in stomatognathic system is known to contribute to periodontal health. Occlusion is main factor affecting behavior of supportive periodontium. Establishment of relationship between periodontitis and trauma from occlusion is very difficult to investigate and diagnose, as it is necessary for both conditions to be manifested at same time in their destructive phase. This case series presents clinical cases of patients with an oral diagnosis of chronic generalized periodontitis exacerbated by occlusal discrepancies (primary and secondary trauma from occlusion) analysed using T-scan and Electromyography at pre and post periodontal treatment and also to check stability of periodontium after occlusal analysis.
