Abstract

Siddha system is one of the ancient systems of medicine. In this system the herbals, metals, minerals and animal products play an important role in the field of health care for the people. It contains innumerable bioactive substances which are responsible for treating various diseases. Siddha text mentiones the fumigation as pugai which is one of the external therapies in this system. Pugai is the effective external theraphy procedure to cure some disease condition based on siddha theory. Main purpose of this procedure is to reduce microbes and to control infections. Thus the article will give more information about the fumigation theraphy.
