A REVIEW ON DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION OF ANALYTICAL METHODS FOR SIMULTANEOUS ESTIMATION OF AZILSARTAN MEDOXOMIL AND CILNIDIPINE IN PHARMACEUTICAL DOSAGE FORM
Khushbu H. Patel* and Rajvi J. Mahida
Abstract Hypertension is chronic medical condition in which the blood pressure in the arteries is elevated. Anti-Hypertensive drug combinations are used for the treatment of Hypertension. The combination of Azilsartan Medoxomil and Cilnidipine was developed to use in treatment of Stage II Hypertension. Azilsartan Medoxomil is a Angiotensin II antagonist and Chemically (5-methyl-2-oxo-1,3-dioxol-4-yl) methyl 2-ethoxy-1- ([2'-(5-oxo-4,5-dihydro- 1,2,4-oxadiazol-3-yl) biphenyl-4-yl]methyl) - 1Hbenzimidazole- 7-carboxylate. Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker and chemically 1,4-Dihydro-2,6-dimethyl-4-(3-nitrophenyl)- 3,5-pyridinedicarboxylic acid 2-methoxyethyl(2E)-3-phenyl-2- propenyl ester. This review focus on the recent developments in analytical techniques such as various spectroscopic methods, chromatographic methods for estimation of Azilsartan Medoxomil and Cilnidipine alone or in combinations with other drugs.
