Abstract

A REVIEW ON ANALYTICAL METHODS FOR DETERMINATION OF EFONIDIPINE HYDROCHLORIDE ETHANOLATE AND TELMISARTAN

Jinal D. Patel* and Dr. Shuchi P. Desai

Abstract

Efonidipine Hydrochloride Ethanolate is the L- type and T-type calcium channel blocker of Dihydropyridine class of drug. It is chemically 2-(N-benzylanilino) ethyl 5-(5, 5-dimethyl-2-oxo-1,3,2λ5- dioxaphosphinan-2-yl)-2, 6-dimethyl-4-(3-nitrophenyl)-1, 4dihydropyridine- 3 carboxylate; ethanol;hydrochloride. It has negative chronotropic and vasodilator effect. Telmisartan is the Angiotension II antagonist class of drug.it is chemically is 2-[4-[[4- methyl-6- (1-methylbenzimidazol-2-yl) -2-propylbenzimidazol- 1yl]methyl] phenyl] benzoic acid. the angiotensin II is a vasoconstrictor, which also stimulates the synthesis and release of aldosterone, blockage of its effects results in decreases in systemic vascular resistance. Fixed-dosed combination regimens consisting of a Efonidpine Hydrochloride Ethanolate and Telmisartan represent a new addition to the available antihypertensive treatment options. This combination has a better efficacy, defined by time to reach blood pressure targets as well as levels of blood pressure achieved, compared with the individual drugs. The combination is well tolerated, including in patients with stage 2 hypertension and the elderly. This review focus on the recent developments in analytical techniques such as various spectroscopic methods, chromatographic methods for estimation of Efonidipine Ethanolate Hydrochloride and Telmisartan alone or in combinations with other drugs. This review represented information is useful for future prospective study for Researcher.

Keywords: Efonidipine Hydrochloride Ethanolate, Telmisartan, Analytical Techniques.
