A PHYSIOLOGICAL STUDY OF RANJAKA PITTA IN THE FORMATION OF RAKTA DHATU

Abstract Ayurveda is the science of life understands human life as an inseparable blend of two phenomena i.e. physical and metaphysical and physiological with psychological. Tridosha being the saktiroopa dravyas in the body are prime factors among the dosha dhatu and mala. There are seven dhatus in the person; these are RASA, RAKTA, MAMSA, MEDA, ASTHI and SUKRA. Rakta dhatu is very important tissue of our body and its mainly sthana YAKRITA and PLEEHA, having the seat of Ranjaka pitta in the our body. SUSRUTHA mentioned the essence of aahaara after being subjected to paaka by ranjaka pitta attains red colour and becomes Rakta dhatu.
