A REVIEW ON PHARMACOLOGICAL &BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY OF TRIDAX PROCUMBENS LINN (BHRINGRAJ)

Abstract
India is gifted with varieties of large number of medicinal herbs
because of environmental condition and seasons for growth of many
species of plants. Tridax Procumbens Linn belongs to family
Asteraceae. Tridax Procumbes are the indigenous elements which will
use in variety of ailments. At least 12,000 species have been isolated.
Some are the plants having medicinal properties and flavoring agent.
Tridax procumbens is most valuable drug which is use in compound
preparation included in Ayurveda literature. It is majorly use in Indian
traditional medicines for wound healing, as anticoagulant ,antifungal &
insect repellent, in diarrhea and dysentery. The plant have synthesized
aromatic substance in that phenol derivative and oxygen metabolite
derivative are mostly secondary metabolite. It also acts against
antimicrobials activity like gram positive and gram negative bacteria. It
is also used as adsorbent for chromium. Here we try to focus on the
wide pharmacological and biological activities of Tridax Procumbens.
