Abstract
To study the anticancer activity of Syzygium cumini leaves by using
MTT assay. The ethanolic extract of Syzygium cumini leaves screened
against HT-29 cell line at various concentration. By using the MTT
assay, the anticancer effect of the ethanolic extracts on cell inhibition
was investigated. The results showed that an ethanolic extract of
Syzygium cumini leaves inhibited the growth of HT-29 cells at IC50
concentration 90.42 μg/ml. The current study discovered that
Syzygium cumini contains several essential chemical constituents
extracted with ethanol as a solvent that can be used further in cancer
care management.
