AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF VATARAKTA (GOUT) – A CASE STUDY

Abstract
Vatarakta is metobolic joint disorder characterised by severe pain, swelling, redness in joint ( initially at big toe). Vatarakta is one of the vatavyadhi caused due to vitiation of vata dosha & rakta dosha. Vitiation of these dosha occurs due to distinct causative factors. Vata dosha is aggrevated by riding on animal like camel, elephant, horse (now a day bike riding) then long standing position, waking up at night suppression of urges etc. Rakta dosha vitiated due to salty, sour, spicy diet, taking meal before first meal is digested, work near fire etc. [5]
