A CASE REPORT ON ROLE OF AYURVEDA IN CHRONIC RENAL FAILURE
Dr. Renu Sharma*, Prof. Chander Mohan Kansal and Dr. Abhishek Bhushan Sharma
Abstract Chronic kidney disease encompasses a spectrum of different pathophysiologic processes associated with abnormal kidney function and progressive decline in glomerular filtration rate. The risk of worsening of kidney function is closely linked to the amount of albuminuria. CKD is identified by blood test for creatinine and urea, which is breakdown product of muscle metabolism. Higher level of creatinine indicates a lower glomerular filtration rate and results in decreased capability of kidney to excrete the waste products. Here I, represented a case study of 57 years old male patient suffering from CRF since 10 months. Serum creatinine level is reduced from 6.5 mg\dl to 4.09 mg\dl, Blood urea from 181.8 mg\dl to 115.7 mg\dl, Serum Uric Acid from 11.4 mg\dl to 5 mg\dl during the hospitalization period of one month and improvement without hemodialysis, which clearly indicates efficacy of Ayurvedic treatment in CKD. Keywords: Albuminuria, Hemodialysis. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
