Abstract Inguinal hernia repair is one of the most frequently performed elective operations today. For many years, recurrence was the only criterion by which the quality of a hernia repair was measured. We report a case report of 67-year-old man with the complaints of swelling in inguinal region of 1 month duration. The physical examination of the inguinal canal revealed a partially reducible non-tender swelling with cough impulse and the ultrasonography confirmed a mild recurrent herniation of mesenteric fat seen on left side of groin. Laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair was performed and patient does not have any perioperative complications. After two months of follow-up, no postoperative complications or hernia recurrence were observed. Recurrent inguinal hernia should be properly evaluated and laparoscopic repair may be an acceptable method for the diagnosis and treatment. Keywords: hernia, recurrent inguinal hernia, treatment.
