CONCEPTUAL REVIEW ON AARTA-VAHA STROTAS WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO STROTODUSHTI

Abstract Sushrut samhita is one of the three great treatises (Brihatrayee) of Ayurveda representing mainly the School of surgery. The concept of strotas is defined wildly and scientifically in (Ayurvedic text) Sushrut Samhita. Kushala or efficient vaidya is one who do the chikitsa after doing the pareeksha. A complete knowledge of strotas is a must for an Ayurvedic physician to approach a patient in a holistic manifestation of a disease occurs in the body as to treat the defective strotas of the body. So any defect strotas must be corrected quickly for the restoration normal health details of the difference between male and female body structures are avilable in ayurvedic text. As per consideration of strotas the artav-vaha strotas is the unique in female body and performs important function of reproduction. Aacharya Sushrut enumerated this under Bahirmukh strotas and yogvahi strotas. In sushrut sharirsthan adhyay 8, Aacharya Sushrut described the anatomy, physiology and patho-Clinical perspect of this strotas. According to sushruta, Strotas means which carry dosh, dhatu, and malas from it i.e. Stravan. Strotas is aakash mahabhotadhikya. Artav –vaha strotas are 2 is number.
