SINGLE CASE STUDY-ROLE OF HARIDRADI MUKHALEPA ANUBHUTA YOGA IN COSMETOLOGY

Abstract Healthy facial skin add beauty and confidence, the branch dealing with it is called cosmetology. In Ayurveda cosmetology is combination of diet, herbal treatment, and lifestyle, spiritual, mental and physical well being. Many unnatural and expensive cosmetics are available in markets that have side effects on skin. Mukha lepa (face pack) is one of the cosmetic measures explained in Ayurveda, in which the herbal paste is applied on face to treat acne, pimple, scar and other facial skin diseases. Mukha lepa helps in Sodhana (purification) of facial skin. Mukha lepa is available for all kinds of seasons and Dosha predominance Vata, Pitta, Kapha in classical text. In this case study, a 30 year old lady, complaining of dry, tan and dull skin with pimples visited our OPD, after proper history taking and examination. The Mukha lepa planned with Haridra, Triphala, Go ksheera and Yatimadhu, which have Vata kapha hara and Sodhana properties. Go ksheer provides Snigdhata to skin, Haridara reduces inflammation and infection, Yatimadhu cleanses skin and enhances glow of skin, Triphala acts as an antioxidants. The result shown was quiet markable in this case with reduction in facetan, dryness of skin, pimples and dull skin, complexion.
