A CRITICAL REVIEW ON NIDANA PANCHAKA OF SHEETAPITTA

. Abstract Ayurveda is a holistic medicine science from the time immemorable. The concept of Astanga Ayurveda is an example of its speciality in all the fields of medicine. Though skin diseases and its treatment are not a separate branch but it‟s basically part of Kayachikitsa (General Medicine). Sheetapitta is a very common skin manifestation which can be corelated with Urticaria in modern dermatology. Though this condition is not life threatening but it troubles patients due to severe itching and its long-lasting tendency. The disease was firstly mentioned by Madhavakara where in he has explained its Nidana panchaka. This article includes critical review on disease Sheeta Pitta.
