EPITOME OF PROSTATE CANCER: A REVIEW

. Abstract Prostate cancer possesses a serious problem in the world. Around 60% of older men are suffering from cancer and most of the men are at higher risks especially African men. The symptoms of prostate cancer are not unique and the same symptoms could be seen for other prostate-related diseases and some of these are even natural as the men get old. Hence the early screening is difficult which leads to serious complications. However, there are many detection methods like digital rectal examination, PSA testing, biopsy and few imaging techniques including ultrasound, computerized tomographic scanning, MRI and prostascint. Based on the detection and stage of cancers there are standard treatments recommended by doctors. This paper mainly focuses on the prostate gland and its cancer, causes, clinical manifestations, detection and effective therapy of prostate cancer.
