FORMULATION DEVELOPMENT AND CHARACTERIZATION OF TRANSFERSOMES FOR FUNGAL TREATMENT
Rahul Raikwar*, Rahul Sharma and Dr. Jagdish Chandra Rathi
. Abstract The present work was aimed to develop a transferosomal gel of econazole for effective fungal treatment. Different formulations of transfersomes were prepared and were optimized on basis of vesicle size, shape, surface charge and entrapment efficiency. Prepared gel was prepared and evaluate for viscosity, % assay, extrudability, spreadability and drug release study. It was found that viscosity of prepared gel was 3250 cps, % assay was 99.12±0.35, Extrudability was 175g and Spreadibility (g.cm/sec) was found that 11.6 (g.cm/sec) respectively. In vitro drug release from Transfersomes was carried out using Franz diffusion cell method and found 92.25±0.25% in 12 hr. In first 30 min it was 17.65±0.45 drug release which slightly high. Drug release from transferosomal formulation was found in very sustained and controlled manner. Keywords: Transfersomes, Gel, Econazole, Evaluation. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
