A SINGLE CASE STUDY- SUCCESSFUL AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF MENORRHAGIA WITH SECONDARY INFERTILITY

Abstract

The cases of infertility are rising day by day. Statistics show that secondary infertility too has been rising in recent years. Hectic life style, stress, ageing and other such causes are responsible for the same. Secondary infertility means the failure to conceive again after first pregnancy, inspite of regular unprotected coitus. And menorrhagia means per vaginal cyclic heavy bleeding with or without pain. Sometimes patient complains of clots too. In this article there is a case of Menorrhagia with secondary infertility managed successfully by Ayurvedic medicines - Patient aged 27 years came to YMT PTSR OPD for ayurvedic treatment of her c/o menorrhagia since 2 years. She had a 8 year old male child after which she hadn’t conceived. However she was more concerned about the heavy bleeding than the infertility and had taken all the hormonal therapy from allopathic Doctors. Since patient was already on hormones and allopathic drugs we couldn’t stop them immediately for fear of withdrawal. She was duly investigated and started medicines like nagkeshar, lodhra, rasanjan, ashok Ghana vati, kushamandavleha, Amycordial syrup among other medicines. After around six months of treatment patient had complete relief and to our pleasant surprise she conceived also. Aim – To study the Ayurvedic management of menorrhagia with secondary infertility. Objective – To assess the Ayurvedic Management of Menorrhagia with secondary infertility. Methodology – It is a single case study.
