A GLIMPSE ON BASIC SIDHHANT OF DRAVYAGUNA VIGYAN WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO IT’S THERAPEUTIC ACTION

. Abstract Dravyaguna Vigyan is an Ayurvedic concept that deals with the general concepts of Ayurvedic pharmacognosy and pharmacology. Dravyaguna Vigyan's areas of expertise include Namajnana, Rupajnana, Gunajnana, and Yuktijnana, among others. Dravya means material or things in the literal sense, and Guna means properties, so Dravyaguna Vigyan is concerned with Dravya's (drugs) properties. Dravyaguna Vigyan connects the pharmacological actions of drugs to their Rasa, Guna, Virya, Vipak, and Prabhav. Rasa, Guna, Virya, Vipak, and Prabhav are Ayurvedic qualities that contribute to the therapeutic effects of medications, according to Ayurveda. The general concepts of Dravyaguna were described in this article, as well as the role of Dravya properties in pharmacological effects.
