CLINICAL EFFICACY OF KRISHNA MRITTIKA CHIKITSA IN LOW BACK PAIN

. Abstract Low Back Pain (LBP) is one of the most common rheumatic disorder accounting for 30% to 50% of rheumatic musculoskeletal complaints. It may occur due to a lot of aetiological factors. Examples include overuse such as working out or lifting too much, prolonged sitting and laying down, sleeping in uncomfortable position. Most of low back pain goes away on its own in two to four weeks. Disability from back pain has increased significantly in the last 25 years. As an ailment, it is second only to common cold. Most often it is self- limited illness and becomes chronic only in 5% of cases. Low Back Pain is the most common pain syndrome in industrial countries with the highest prevalence in persons aged 45-65 years. Amount of working hours lost due to back pain. Only a small number of patients with back pain have A clear diagnosis. Krishna Mrittika can be used in low back pain successfully in some extent. This treatment includes dealing with application of Mrittika mixed with water on the body in order to get rid of diseases. Under Parthiva Chikitsa the use of Mrittika (Soil) is being clearly explained in our Samhitas that external and internal use of Mrittika (Soil) can be done in different diseases. I have got the motivation to work on Panchbhautik Chikitsa from broad description on Panchmahabhutas from Vedas. In Vedas Panchmahabhutas are considered as deity (Devata) and their powerful action in the universe has been described. Panchamahabhuta are the basic constitutional Dravya of the universe.
