REVIEW OF AYURVEDIC DRUGS WITH SPECIAL REFERECE TO MAHAKASHAYA OF CHARAK SUTRASTHANAM

. Abstract Drug is the important part of Chikitsa Chatushpada. Without knowledge of drug, the patient cannot be treated property. So Acharya Charaka described 50 Mahakashaya in Ch.Su.4. In 50 Mahakashay there are 500 Kashaya, each Mahakashaya consist of 10 Dravya i.e. Kashaya. These Mahakashya have its own importance in treatment and become easier to select by its name. For both low intelligent & high intelligent Vaidya these are helpful. Dravya selected by its action. These are one the unique concept explained by Acharya Charak. So many drugs are named differently by difficult tropical areas. It can cause little difficulty in finding proper Dravya.
