STUDY OF SOLID-DISPERSIONS FOR DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM AND SOLUBILITY ENHANCEMENT: A REVIEW
Vijaya Padwal*, Sachin Kothawade, Mansi Gardare, Santosh Waghmare, Dr. Hemant Kamble
. Abstract Solid dispersions are often used to enhance the solubility and dissolution rate of drugs that seem to be poorly soluble in water. Solid dispersions of poorly soluble drugs in water have also been shown to reduce the prevalence of these problems and to improve dissolution. In solid dispersion, the particle size of the drug is decreased or a crystalline pure drug is transformed to an amorphous form, going to increase the drug's solubility. The review begins with a concise introduction to solid dispersion, highlighting the various approaches for their preparation, the technology involved, carrier selection, and characterization methods. Keywords: Solid dispersion, Poorly soluble drug, Solubility, Bioavailability. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
