IMPACT OF LOCKDOWN ON CHILDREN

. Abstract Covid-19 Pandemic and lockdown has brought about a sense of fear and anxiety around the globe. This Phenomenon has led to short term as well as long term physical and psychological health implications for children and adolescents. The quality and magnitude of impact on minors is determine by many vulnerability factors like developmental age, educational status, being economically underprivileged or being quarantined due to infection or fear of infection. Such, restriction of physical activities and social isolation due to the lockdown have more effect on the mental and physical health of children during this crisis. Although these restrictive measures can contain the outbreak, there is concern regarding the potential deleterious impact in the physical and mental health of children of the prolong closure of schools and lockdown at home.
